Where's a good place to get bed sheets in Seattle or Seattle area?

i'm in the process of discovering the wonders of quality bedding, mattresses, etc. and am upgrading everything. my current sheets are cheap t-shirt style deals from target that i got years ago for probably like $15 and i'm looking to upgrade. doesn't need to be anything too fancy, but an upgrade over my current setup is desired. as you can tell i have basically no know-how in the realm of linen shopping.

Ross, before you buy anything anywhere else, check out the home department at Ross. It is downstairs. I own several sets of high quality high thread count 100% cotton sheets from Ross that were all very affordable, like $10 for a set.

Costco is good, clearance rack at Bed, Bath & Beyond, sales rack at JC Penney or Macy's. Go for the highest thread count, sateen sheets you can find. Ross is good for price, but I've had mixed results with the final product (got a great deal on allegedly 500 thread count sheets that pilled up and got scratchy after one washing).

My husband and I are addicted to good bedding, too. At this point our bed (memory foam matress, down comforter, 600 thread count sheets) is actually TOO comfortable. Makes it hard to get out of bed in the morning.

Also, a good tip is to add a memory foam topper to a regular matress - a fraction of the price of a full memory foam matress, but it makes a huge difference. Costco has good prices on those too.

Macy's has the mother-load of linens. As with everything there, only buy what is on sale.

Eddie Bauer (are they still in business?) has really high quality flannel sheets, great for cold winter nights. The are usually on sale around this time of year. Online, Land's End has a similar product.

I have an obsession with bed sheets! lol...No, but I do love all the different and cute sheet sets that are out there. Have you considered shopping online for sheets? I've found sheets that are way cooler online than I ever do in regular stores. Some are expensive, but if you catch things on sale, you can get some good ones fairly reasonably.

My favorite places for sheets are:

    garnethill.com

    potterybarn.com

    pbteen.com

    thecompanystore.com

If you go to Macy's, only get name brands. Something from Donna Karan, for example, will be acceptable, but I've had serious problems with the quality of linens produced by Macy's own suppliers. The color in their towels bleed out after one washing; I can't imagine their bed linens are much better.

Costco.com has Tencel sheets available (I've never seen them in the stores). Tencel is a WONDERFUL fiber for sheets - very silky hand, very strong, drapes beautifully. I bought a set of the sheets about six months ago, and they are really quality - no pilling, which is my personal bete noire (I'm like the Princess and the Pea with even the slightest pilling of sheets).

Tencel is made from bamboo, I believe. It's an amazing fiber. I love it for clothing, too, and was thrilled when I found sheets made of it. They do need to be washed (on gentle!) and dried (on cool, and alone!) at least two or three times before use, to get all the loose surface fibers off.

TJ Max, like Ross, has great sheets at cheap prices. But if you are super selective about your color scheme you they might not work for you.

Costco has a small selection of quality sheets for affordable prices. I bought a few sets of sheets there a few months ago that I love.
