Without question I would say The Dish on Leary Avenue between Fremont and Ballard. YUM! I'm also a big fan of the benedict at Vera's in Ballard but that's just because they have chicken sausage.

Peso's in Lower Queen Anne. The place has a super douchey vibe, but their Habanero Sausage Benedict (w/ chipotle hollandaise sauce) is incredible! Massive cups a coffee are an added bonus.

Everyone always says Glo's because it's so good. Actually I always order the Californian Eggs Benedict because I think avocado is more delicious than Canadian bacon. The Hollandaise is lemony and creamy, the English muffins are Thomas's, the poached eggs are exactly right. Comes with enormous serving of crispy hash browns and some red cabbage on the side that adds a pleasing extra texture to spillover Hollandaise.

It used to be Crave but now they are closed. Waaah, so sad. I haven't been in awhile but back in the day the Athenian in Pike Place had some decent EB.

It feels like I've ordered Eggs Florentine (Benedict's vegetarian cousin) at almost every breakfast place in the city, and honestly the place I consistently enjoy it the most is at Peso's in Queen Anne. It may be a douche-factory by night, but during the day the crowd isn't so bad, and the food is seriously good. The also make a solid bloody mary.

The Sunflour Cafe and bakery has the best in town. I like mine with smoked salmon and Avo. Always great and they do all there baking in house that adds to the quality!

No doubt about it. Boat Street Cafe. The only "real" hollandaise I've ever seen around town. they offer three versions. Get either the straight up ham. Or the artichoke one. But the one with cheddar and tomato strays too far and kind of boring.

I might get a kick in the beans for this answer, but here goes:

My favorite eggs benedict are the smoked salmon bennies at Hattie's Hat in Ballard. Their cream cheese hollandaise is surprisingly light. Throw in a Ballard Mary, and you've got yourself one fine hangover cure.

    Over good ones:
*The veggie benedict at Silence Heart Nest in Fremont.
*The florentine at Wild Mountain Cafe in Ballard (oh, those roasted garlic potato cakes!).
*Agreed with Heather on the Sunflour Bakery.

Maximillian's in the Market used to make a wonderful dish called Eggs Rothschild. Think Eggs Benedict with filet mignon instead of Canadian Bacon.

Believe it or not, The Original Pancake House on 15th Ave NW. Super yummy homemade hollandaise, light & lemony, & perfectly poached eggs. Ask for a little extra sauce to dip your taters in!

Try the eggs benedict at 22 Doors on 15th. I'm answering as a proxy here, but my bf loves eggs benedict and has had it all over the city and swears it is the best. It is their hollandaise sauce, which is light and delicous! They have crab benedict (on a crab cake) and regular. I also love it there, but haven't done a lot of comparison tasting myself.

for a strictly traditional Benedict, try the restaurant at the Sheraton.

Ettas at the market has a very good crab Benedict and the boat street cafe has some interesting variations.

I've not ordered it since Anthony Bourdain taught me in his "avoid brunch at all costs" passage of Kitchen Confidential:

"Hollandaise sauce must be kept at a lukewarm temperature to prevent separation. Conveniently, this tepid climate also favors the growth of bacteria, such as salmonella. Forget the eggs Benedict." (p.67)

So I'd love to get it sometime where it's made fresh for each order, but who does that? Anybody?

I've had superb Eggs Benedict at Portage Bay Cafe in the U District. I get avocado instead of the ham, which they will (or at least have in the past) happily do.

Everybody always says Glo's, but I wouldn't know. I always get the salmon scramble. Then again I haven't been there in months (because it isn't as good as everyone says). Hope that helps.
