Laundry service?

I feel like a total tool, but life has gotten so hectic that I don't really have time to do my own laundry. That, and my building is short on machines, so invariably when I *do* get time, the machines are busy.

So. If I'm going to schlep my laundry to a laundromat, I'm going to pay someone to do the whole thing: wash, dry, fold. It will be an indulgence.

Any experience with this? Where should I go? I'm in the Fremont area. Some of the seasoned veterans here (Fnarf, I'm looking at you) seem like they'd have an answer for this. Thanks kindly!

Not too far from Fremont is Transformation Surprise Laundromat (yes, super hippy-dippy name) just a door north from the NW corner of 8th Ave NW and NW Market St in East Ballard. This is probably the cleanest, brightest, least depressing laundromat in the western world, I shit you not.

They will wash and fold your clothes for you for $1 a pound, $10 minimum (not usually a problem), and you know what? They will do a helluva good job and have it ready when they say it will be. They even ask you if you're allergic to different detergents, whether you want a certain softener, or even if you want Oxyclean in the load so you can wash out the sin you've emitted in your underwear and sheets.

I understand the being super fucking busy thing - I usually do my own laundry, but these people have saved my ass when things just got too hectic. Try 'em out; you won't be disappointed!

Are you looking at Fnarf because he has wrinkly, stained clothes and stink lines hovering over him? Or is he just expected to know all things laundry?

There is a place on 34th and Stone that advertises laundry service on their store front. They look kind of rundown and sketchy. I'd try this service. They have a dropoff in Fremont, and their website smells like flowers.

Note that I have no experience with laundry service in Seattle. I tend to wait until the stink lines appear, and then I do it myself in a marathon laundry weekend.

I've used the laundry mat on Brooklyn ave between 45th and 47th a few years ago for sheets and towels (never my regular clothes) it was something like 80 cents a pound or something and everything came back done really well. Although I kind of remember my sheets not smelling as good as when I was doing them (I think this is because they used cheap soap).

I was looking at using this service for suits/dress shirts just because I don't have time to go to a dry cleaner. But I haven't gotten around to doing it yet. The nice thing is that they do pickup and delivery, and they use natural something something that sounds like a good thing.
