Rainier Vet. Hospital (815 Rainier Ave S...98144) is amazing, and affordable. Dr. Heino is amazing, and the desk staff is really nice and great with our dogs. Do it.

I always take my cat to Rainier Animal Hospital. Dr. Heino is good, as are the other staff, and they're usually affordable.

Rainier Veterinary Hospital (815 Rainier Ave S
Seattle, WA 98144, (206) 324-4144), is the most affordable and one of the best in Seattle. You can now make appointments (it used to be walk-in only). Dr. Heino is wonderful, everyone is very nice and caring. I've taken my dog here several times and he loves seeing everyone again.

My family has been taking our cats to Dr. Young at Rainier Beach Veterinary Hospital for almost 20 years. He is warm, empathetic, and (most importantly) highly skilled. It's very inexpensive and the front desk is competent. He's only there certain days of the week. The other days he works in a practice on the Eastside, where he lives. I'm glad he never abandoned the pets of Rainier Valley!

Doctor Young at Rainier Beach Veterinary: As the owner of four dogs and a dearly departed cat, there's no one better.

I second the vote for Dr. Romatowski at the Cat Clinic of Northeast Seattle (if you have a cat). He's very thorough and seems to genuinely love what he does. One of my cats developed a benign bone growth as the result of an infection, and the two vets I saw before Dr. Romatowski had no idea what was going on (but charged me a ton anyway). I paid way less at the Cat Clinic than at the other places, and I finally knew what was going on with my cat as a result of Dr. Romatowski's research.

I had some bad experiences with Hawthorne Hills Animal Hospital, so I tell everyone to avoid them. I took my cat there for the bone growth thing (before discovering Cat Clinic of NE Seattle) - the doc had no idea what was going on, but guessed that it was probably a tooth abscess (which it wasn't), and charged me a ridiculous amount of money. I boarded my cat there once and they ran a battery of tests on him because apparently he had blood in his urine. He was fine, but he was very stressed out when I picked him up and he'd caught a cold while he was there. Oh, and I paid about four times what I'd expected to board him because they ran so many tests on him while he was there.

I love Northwest Veterinary Hospital in Wallingford. Affordable, Dr. Donovan is wonderful as are the rest of the staff, and they make certain that you're well-informed.

4 Paws near Seward Park is fantastic. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I've had great luck with Dr. Obegi at Allpets Veterinary Clinic up in Shoreline. She's fairly priced, gives good care, and won't try to upsell you and likes to give multiple options on how you want to treat your pet.

I also really like Eastlake Animal Hospital. They're pricier but also feel in good hands and the staff is super sweet. They cried with me when I had to put a down one of my cats and the full staff signed and mailed us a sympathy card.

We're getting our 2 cats snipped and chipped for a grand total of $265 (for both, not each) at Rainier Vet Hospital. My dog had surgery, labs drawn, his teeth cleaned, multiple biopsies with cytology, and meds for under $300.

Go see Dr. Fisher at Lein Animal Clinic in West Seattle. Seriously. He's fantastic. He helps you with a diagnosis, but then he starts treatment by trying out the least expensive/least invasive steps first. We got tired of hearing "We have get an MRI/X-ray/expensive blood test" from our previous vet.

Go see him. You won't be disappointed. Office visits are relatively inexpensive, and we have three dogs. Several times, we have taken two or even all three of them, and they have only charged us for a single office visit.

He has a great rapport with animals, even our oldest dog, who is fear-aggressive and general grumpy.

I love our vet, Dr. Herron, at Greenlake Vet. My kitty has lymphoma, so we're also going to the Animal Cancer place on Lake City, and they're very good, and kind. Both places have happy, friendly staff as well as competent vets.

We had HORRIBLE experiences with Northeast Veterinary Hospital - they misdiagnosed my ex's kitty who turned out to have kidney failure, and misdiagnosed my other kitty's cancer, then overmedicated her and she died within a week of diagnosis. Plus the staff seems just miserable.

If it's just for cats, I can't recommend the Cat Clinic of Northeast Seattle enough. (Not to be confused with the "Cat Clinic of Seattle" which appears to be a totally different group of people).

They are super affordable and Dr. Romatowski is very pleasant to work with. He always takes a lot of time with you and answers any questions you have very authoritatively. I was able to get a Saturday afternoon appointment on short notice recently too!

All they do is cats though.

I really like my vet (Madison Park Vet) and even though they're in Madison Park their rates are very reasonable for everyday care. However, their prices for procedures are high so I had my dog spayed at the Seattle Animal Shelter in Interbay because they were highly recommended and were 1/5th the cost.
