am i being creepy, gross or just odd by folding my laundry straight out of the drier in the laundry room of my apartment building?

i don't really care if people see my unmentionables, so i guess i'm just curious as to how this is perceived.

I don't think it's creepy or weird. The only potential problem I see here is if your extended presence in the laundry room makes it more difficult for other people to do their laundry. I say if you're not in anyone's way, what's the difference?

It's only creepy when someone else folds your laundry.

I mean, I appreciate it, whoever you are... But I really prefer to know the people that touch my underwear.

I always did the same thing. I think with clean laundry, the issue is more your comfort with other people seeing, not the other way around.

Dirty laundry on the other hand...

Did someone else bring this up as strange? I thought it was a pretty normal thing to do.

    Certainly not.

Of course, I don't see much point in folding laundry, it's only work against my disheveled-chic look.

You are not being creepy, gross or odd. But, for me, my building's laundry room is like the elevator. Yeah, plenty of people can use it at the same time, but I'd much rather be alone.

It really depends...When we lived in an apartment building I would fold some things directly from the dryer into the basket sometimes, without them touching the ground. I'd never use the common table though, because I'm pretty sure the management didn't clean the laundry room on a daily basis, and you never know what's been lurking up there (or whether people are putting their dirties on there, or sitting on it, or spilling food...you get the picture).

    Not weird at all.

That depends. Are you folding it with your tongue?

As far as I know, there's nothing wrong with that provided there's enough counter or table space for you to do so. I don't do it but I consider it totally acceptable for someone to fold their clothes on the spot.

Did somebody at your complex give you grief over this? I would hope not.

For several years, my wife kept asking for a "folding table" next to the washer & drier. I could never figure out why she wanted a card table that could be colapsed next to the drier.

NOW it makes sense... a table on which to fold.... duh!
