Does anyone know of a good source for heirloom seeds in Seattle?

I ordered mostof my heirloom veggie and herb seeds from Baker Creek Heirlooms last week but I thought of a few more things I'd like to plant. I don't want to wait for them to come in the mail so I'd love to pick some up locally in the next day or two.

Does anyone know of a shop located in or near to Seattle with a good selection of heirlooms herbs and veggies?

Backyard Heirloom Seeds is a great source. They only do orders online but they are close by Seattle WA.

Try contacting Seattle tilth, http://www.seattletilth.org, they do a big annual plant sale including heirloom varieties every year, and some one on their gardening hotline may know where to get heirloom seeds locally now.

If it exists, Swanson's Nursery in N. Seattle probably has it.

I've found pretty generic cultivars at City People's; they carry widely available mail-order brands like Botanical Interests and Renee's Garden. They might be able to refer you elsewhere for more exotic heirloom varieties.

You just missed the weekly Tuesday call-in show with garden gurus on KUOW-FM's Weekday. Might be worth your while to contact the panel members, Willi Galloway and Marty Wingate.

Have you tried chatting up the vendors at the U District or Ballard farmer's markets?
