Anyone know a good custom tailor/dressmaker (that isn't Cicada)?

I'm looking to have a custom wedding dress made based on an existing design. I've found a lot of great seamstresses in other cities, but would prefer to work with someone local.
Does anyone know a good dressmaker or crafty chick that can sew anything?

Beverly Hunnicutt on top of Queen Anne. She made my wedding dress, and it was absolutely perfect. She also does all my alterations. She's smart, funny, mellow, professional, and does beautiful work. Don't let her 1.0 website fool you. She's the real deal.

The owner of Alterations Plus Drycleaning on Cap Hill (next to the North Hill Bakery) does lovely work. She's altered a jacket I bought from Cicada that didn't fit, even after Cicada altered it. I know she does custom work. 324-4487. Definitely worth checking out. I don't think there is a website.

I've been known to sew myself clothes from time to time, but I have a full-time job have a hard time sewing stuff for my mom, let alone for someone outside the family.

However, I would call Nancy's Sewing Basket up on Queen Anne. It's a fabric store, but it's basically *the* place to go to get your bridal silk satin for your dressmaker (and their ribbon room is amazing). They may or may not be able to refer you to someone, but it's worth a call.

I would go to Pacific Fabrics by Northgate (http://www.pacificfabrics.com/), and ask them who they would recommend. They have a great selection of bridal fabrics, and chances are the seamstress shops there.
