anyone out there think having a breathalyzer in your car is more dangerous than drinking?

I never had a speeding ticket in my life but got pulled over after having 3 drinks /w dinner. now i have a blow gun thing in my car that i have to use to start the car and while driving it. if i dont blow i go to jail. almost hit 3 kids in an intersection the other day (kids dont look left and right anymore before crossing) I think this thing is a hazard to everyone. who in this state can i complain to about this ridiculous law!?!?

Maybe you shouldn't have been driving while intoxicated and you wouldn't have this problem. Sorry for being harsh, but there is no excuse for drinking and driving. People DIE from it. All you had to do was call a cab or a friend or something. What is so sad is that you OBVIOUSLY have no remorse from driving while intoxicated. It sounds like you don't see a problem with it and the only thing that bothers you is that you now have a breathalyzer in your car. Grow up and quit drinking and driving! You can justify it all you want by saying "oh, it was only 3 drinks with dinner..." Bullshit! You are lucky you even have a car to drive at all.

I don't care if you want to drink until the cows come home, but don't get behind the wheel of a car after doing it! There is no excuse!

Doesn't it depend on how often you're blowing into it?

I mean...if it actually gets you to stop driving...

True enough, the blowgun part does make driving a small bit less safe. I mean not as Less Safe as DUI, of course. Driving DUI would be asstastically stupid*.
Ideally it should beep / ask you for another blow only at stop lights or something intelligent like that.

3 drinks? You should have known better.
    Quick rule:
1 drink = 1 hour wait time before driving, 3 drinks = 3 hours wait time.
