How much trouble would I get in for paying a bar tab with pennies?

They're pretty much all I've got left.

Only if you're never going there ever again.

your bartender will not think this is cute. seriously. never. find a way to cash your pennies in for bills.

same goes for tipping with coins, just don't do it unless it's quarters or dollar coins. anything smaller is an insult even if there are a lot of them.

Also, everyone else who is in the bar at the time is going to be telling their friends about this asshole they saw for the rest of their lives.

I would suggest going to the bank and putting your pennies in one of those change machines so you can get bills instead. This reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer is walking around with pockets full of change and he tries to pay for his pizza with change. I don't really know why places are so anti-change...it is still money. I don't think it is against the law to pay with change.

MAYBE if you show up with them pre-rolled, and only buy one beer with them, you won't be told to never come back.
