Check out Jennifer Lynch's Surveillance starring Julia Ormond, Bill Pullman, Michael Ironside, and French Stewart. Suprisingly good, and if you see the twist coming, it won't matter since the performances are so good.

I'm not sure if there is another showing and it may not be exactly what you're looking for but the Spanish Short Films were EXCELLENT. The best short film compilation I've seen so far at SIFF. Surprised me and I'm sure you'll enjoy at least a few of the films very much.

Two words: Southern District.

Amelie - good, eccentric, traveling gnome
Lives of Others - study of DDR Stazi, powerful
Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - Simply awesome
Layer Cake - in the vein of lock stock, without humor, well until the end. . .

If you saw Jar City, you'll want to see Reykjavik-Rotterdam, a noirish thriller by the same people who made Jar City. (If you haven't seen Jar City, you should rent that. But it's not necessary for Reykjavik-Rotterdam, which is a totally different movie.) It was at SIFF a couple years back. It's not the same kind of film as Tell No One, but it's worth seeing, especially if you're into contemporary crime stories.

Here are three: K-20 (an interesting failure), Farewell (a great ending), and Southern District (the cinematography will blow your mind).

I love thrillers! My recommendations for SIFF? Well, you missed my first one, Rapt, which screened on May 25. But my second recommendation, Farewell (a Cold War thriller), screens this weekend (http://www.thestranger.com/seattle/Search?search=movietimes&film=3921230). That's the best I can do for you.

Better a 'menage a trois' theme than the usual overabundance of WWWII/Holocaust films, for a change. Make love [movies] not war [movies]. It's unfortunate most don't seem very promising, except for "Cherry" and "Run If You Can".

I think it's accidental, but everyone is talking about it. It's probably just because independent cinema is rife with that kind of thing; the promise of a sexy, sexy threesome is maybe the easiest, cheapest way for a burgeoning filmmaker to put butts in the seats.

For some reason, I've been in a sex comedy kind of mood lately, so I watched a lot of SIFF's threesome/love triangle movies. The best one was The Freebie and the most uninteresting one, despite the presence of the beguiling Rashida Jones, was Monogamy.

Two people in a relationship is complicated enough - high drama when you have to manage a third, right?

I saw a lot of films about broken marriages or unfaithful husbands. I saw no film with a menage trois.
