Well, ok there were many other reasons, but it did take care of my daily irritation.

Something to consider: costco has a 1 year return policy on everything. (At least that's what a professional hacker told me at ToorCamp).

I've been using the ORCA card for a couple months and here are my observations:

1. the cardreaders onboard the buses (or the RFID chips themselves) are very unreliable. Often times I have to scan multiple times for my card to register.

2. When purchasing passes online, do it at least one week in advance of the day the pass is to start. It takes several days for the transaction to clear, and you could be left without a pass for the first few days of the month.

3. The ORCA customer service number is out of order as of 7.8.09.

We bicyclists are on the road and should follow the rules of said road. Lack of a motor does not immediately relegate one to a pre-civ state of anarchy.

Look both ways, signal and follow them rules. They're actually there to try and keep everyone safe.

i disagree with you. If you ride in the street, you need to obey the laws of the road. you must obey the speed limits, red lights and yield and everything because they are intended for everyone using the roadway. If someone is on a bike, runs a red light and gets whacked by a car, it's the biker's fault plain and simple. I love riding and wish we had more and proper bike lanes and buses, but we don't so we have to share the road with cars/trucks/motorcycles as much as they have to share with us.

Something like that happened to me, only I was dumber. Shabby-looking white guy approached me as I was heading for the pay kiosk at a lot on 1st Ave in Belltown. "Parking is $10." Well, I was planning to use my card, but for some reason I cooperated and dug around for the cash. "Here's $20, do you have the change?" (note: yes I am dumb); Hands me standard paper parking slip for my dashboard. "Thank you" (yes am dumb and dumber). "I will be right back with your change." Walks away. Sinking feeling. Looking at parking slip. Is expired slip with a different lot's address on it. Bum and dumb and dumber and bummer.
