I would presume that the precipitate you are seeing is a result of some dissolved parts of the apple juice that has become more visible as a result of the freezing. If this was unopened and just thawed back to liquid state and then kept cold it should be fine. Shake it up really good, pour yourself a glass and taste it, it should be fine (you may find the feathery stuff is very fine ice crystals).

If you want to convince yourself that it is all just the apple juice, warm some of it gently on the stove or microwave (be careful here as sugar containing solutions heat up fast) and you will most probably note it will go as completely clear as it was before freezing as the stuff goes back into solution.

If you're learning to cook Greek food, why not make it yourself? It isn't hard. It's not hard to make your own Greek yoghurt either. You just strain it through some cheesecloth and let the water drip out.

If you bring it to a boil and keep it boiling for several minutes you should be time. Next time try to freeze it before you forget about it! :)

I like to boil mine down to a concentrate and then make stock ice cubes. They reconstitute nicely in 1 cup of boiling water.

I spend about $250/week for a family of four. All organic vegetables and milk, one meat meal a week. That's just food, not shampoo, beer, etc.

I consider good quality food to be the best investment/indulgence possible, and focus my resources on the meals I put on the table rather than a nicer car, paying off my debts or even saving for my kids' college education.

$550 for two people sounds reasonable to me.

I don't get nauseous, but raw apple and several other raw foods make my throat really itchy. I think I have oral allergy syndrome, because I also get bad hay fever in the spring when tree pollen is high. The weird thing is that it's only the raw foods; I think I'm ok with cooked stuff. I've also met two other people who couldn't eat any raw fruits/veggies, but can eat cooked stuff.

If you also have hay fever/pollen allergies that might be what's making you nauseous with raw apple - some other people commented on this blog post about OAS that they throw up after eating some of these foods.

Of course it might be something totally different in your case, but I think you're safe with apple pie. :)
