  • how can i build up my breast milk?
    Avatar_default

You might want to turn to supplementing the milk with some goats milk. It is better for babies than cow's milk because there is less allergic effects and it is easier to digest. However, you might want to consult an expert to see if it is safe for your child to drink it.

  • Why are the colors in the TV show "House" so washed out?
    Subcultureoftwo_small

I'm sure it's done intentionally, most likely through a computer technique called digital color grading. There was a great featurette about it on one of the LOTR DVD's...watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4zRMLbZZxw. After I saw how it was used in LOTR, I now notice it everywhere.

My guess is that they introduce a lot of blues into the spectrum and back off on other colors, in order to give everything a cold, sterile feel (and to ramp up the drama, and to make House look even more sallow). It also makes lighthearted scenes more noticeable by comparison when they restore some natural color.

  • Fear that you will jump from high places?
    Subcultureoftwo_small

It happens to me too. I notice it on bridges, balconies, or ferry guardrails. In my case, I think it's just my brain overthinking what WOULD happen if I did, and gauging the hardness/unpleasantness of the surface below, while the part of me that keeps myself from doing that is sleeping because it's content in the knowledge that I won't.

In other words, the "what-if" is louder than the "you won't." Possibilities over probabilities.

In terms of addressing it, I just do my best to ignore it and not give those thoughts any power.

  • Banks: School Employee Credit Union of WA (SECU) vs BECU
    Yosemite_ariel_small

If they have a reciprocal arrangement with other institutions for free ATM use at an acceptable number of locations, go with the smaller, SECU.

Who invests in Certificates of Deposit anymore, anyway? The .001% extra interest hardly makes up for what you lose in liquidity.

  • Where are all the house flies coming from?

Look for a source where a small animal, rodent or such could have crawled in an died.

I get a 1.55% on a CD that I can add money to. SECUW offers 0.15% on savings of $500+. Twice a month I have a set amount transfer from my checking to my "add to" CD. Unfortunately, it's tough to find a local rate over 1.0% for balances between $500-$10,000.

The fee for liquidating early is 3 months worth of accrued interest, and that is all.

I can transfer funds (partial, full, interest only) from the CD to either my checking or savings account online.

It was harder to get money out of my ING savings than it will be to get money out of my BECU CD's.

I agree. My parents' house would have this same problem every now and again, always preceded by a dead rat in the walls (they live close to the water where rats like to infiltrate). However, if you've had a dead rodent in your house, you'll know it from the smell for sure. If you smelled something gross and rotting for a few weeks prior to the flies, then that's where they came from.
