I've been getting them too. I guess it's possible that Myrna and I have the same malware, but it seems unlikely, especially since I've only seen pop-unders from Slog of late.

You're also not supposed to donate blood if you've traveled in countries with a prevalence of malaria in the past few years. That's not bigotry either.

Well that blows. I'm not sure what pisses me off more: douchebags doing douchebaggy things or the people whose job it is to deal with the douchebags refusing to do anything about it.

Anyway, I guess report the camper, give your good neighbors a heads up, and then gird your loins.

Another thought I had: do your neighbors rent or own? If they rent, you could try to appeal to their landlord to curb their behavior or kick them out completely.

Again, if you live in Seattle/King County, you can try to find out who actually owns the building using the parcel finder.

I guess this situation also just blows my mind because it's been a long-standing tradition in my family to have bloodletting fights over who "gets" to host Thanksgiving or Christmas, with the implication that the host will absolutely provide all the essentials and they'll lose their privileges if they do a crappy job.

But my family's weird that way.

Even not counting the teen/adult children of the hosts, I still think three dishes is too onerous and especially sets a bad precedent that "Need answers" could be stuck with for as long as the brother is with the girlfriend.

This may be family, but there are plenty of people who unfairly take advantage of that relationship. The girlfriend is hosting this dinner. So, unless this is explicitly a pot luck, it's on her to buy and cook the majority of the food. I recommend negotiating down to no more than two dishes (one preferably), leaving the girlfriend to decide what she wants guests to bring.

If she has a 15-year-old kid, she ought to be mature enough to handle Thanksgiving mostly on her own.

I believe the greatest risk of suicide from Accutane is in prescribing it to adolescents and teens. Adults are supposedly more immune, but certainly clear skin is not worth the risk if Rickler has a history of depression. Also, pretty much any doctor who prescribes Accutane would be more than happy to prescribe anti-depressants as a preventive measure, even before symptoms of depression appear.

I'm going to second this suggestion. My office used to exchange holiday gifts with the other offices in our company. My boss would buy an assortment of Dilettante Chocolates, Chukar cherries, Frangos. It was a really nice way to send something that pleases everyone but that isn't as generic or overpriced as a fruit basket.

The other offices would send cans of assorted popcorn.

The only two Halloweens I spent in a single-family house in Seattle, my housemate did the same thing because both of us were out those nights. Both times, when I got back to the house, the bowl was still half full. Seattle kids are amazingly conscientious (for the most part).
