I'm sorry, but changing your oil twice as often as you need to is not cheap insurance. It's just consuming twice as much oil as you need and giving you a false sense of security.

Far better to put your time and money into other maintenance, like checking your tire pressure more often, doing the other lube and check maintenance in your owner's manual -- as scheduled, not more -- or if nothing else, merely looking at your engine and seeing if anything as fallen off since last time.

Throwing out good oil is not intelligent behavior.

It probably shouldn't be said -- because if you're of them you don't need advice -- but under severe conditions you need to change oil far more often. For example, if you're doing weekends at the racetrack with a motorcycle, you change it every weekend. That's 3 *days*/300 miles! Versus 12 months/6,000 miles for the same bike on the street.

But if you're driving your car hard enough on the street to truly need new oil every 3,000 miles... well, you probably don't have a driver's license any more, and oil changes are the least of your problems.

I don't have an answer but, balderdash, can I ask how they managed to get $500 in tickets? Is that like a dozen unpaid tickets in a row?

Is this from trying to feed meters all day while they're at work? Parking without paying at all and trusting their luck?

How come after say, the first 5 or 6 tickets they kept doing it? No choice?

Like I said, sociologists don't have a whole lot to say of any relevance to people in the real world. This type of leveling of differences and insipid relativism doesn't do any harm other than making everyone ignore you.

...All good. But keep in mind that FB reserves the right to suddenly change policies and ignore all your settings. Check them every once in a while and you'll notice that your preferences have mysteriously changed for the worse. And then there's all the glitches and bugs.
