    Where's the best place in Seattle to buy a mandolin?

    Dusty Strings in Fremont has a great selection. During the Memorial Day weekend they typically have a Folklife Festival sale, which might get you 10-15% off the normal retail price of at least some of their instruments.

    The Folk Store, in the University District has a smaller selection, but the owner is a mandolin player himself, and is super helpful.

    Definitely check out Dusty Strings, as the other posters have mentioned.

    Also worth a visit is The Folk Store on Roosevelt in the U. District. They have a smaller selection, but the owner is a mandolin player himself and very friendly and easy to talk to.

    Also take a look at the "for sale" ads posted on www.mandolincafe.com --an excellent online community of mandolin enthusiasts
