    Russ, that also sounds interesting. I like the zipper idea. Yeah, I was always collecting the stray feathers and putting them in a special place; they were so gorgeous. The one I want to use for this project must have eight different brilliant colors in that single feather. I'm trying to find an approach that won't take away from or try to add to what is already so stunning on its own. That's why I was hoping for a super-simple way to have the quill held securely by an ornamental silver device of some kind, and let the rest of the feather just hang on its own, fully exposed. I'd be a bit reluctant to encase it in Lexan.

    The part I omitted, in my haste, from my question was the voice recognition step. I've used voice recognition software for dictation, and it takes a lot of training for it to accurately recognize an individual's speech. Just wondering if such functionality had been worked into skype, but I guess not. Thanks again.
