I wasn't making a statement about chasing the money or not following your heart. The thing is, unless you're getting an advanced degree, there's not a huge difference between engineering and physics. So, nothing against physics majors, but often they will end up doing the exact same job as an engineer, except for less money out of the gate.

In the real world, physics majors are like lesser paid engineering majors.

$1.2 million so far this year, and I imagine they get some huge donations at year-end. I'm in the wrong business.

Hey Charles - are comments broken in the QL Blog? After clicking "Post Comment", the screen shows a blank comment form, which seems a bit odd. And comments don't show up either, which is probably even more telling.

If you had kids, my advice would be different. Similarly, if you already had a facial tattoo and wanted another one, I wouldn't advise against it.

Add my name to the list of people who were absolutely certain that they never wanted kids. This was in my 20's and early-30's. Now I'm 41 and we have two. It's amazing how priorities change as we age.

Two thumbs down, to zero up? Goddammit, this is a reasonably scientific answer!
