  • Should I explain or expose my mental illness to potential employers upon interview?
    Rex_racer_small

Great answer Kristin - I'll add--
If any potential employer asked me about GPA, I'd sidestep answering by telling them I was always told GPA was something that was for the benefit of college applications.
Unless the actual JOB involves study hall and taking tests - then I think your GPA doesn't have anything to do with your career
Unless your health issue is dyslexia, I think a technical writing job shouldnt need to know more.

In addition to having driven all over WA and the nation, the state atlas has them all on one big page - as a youth I used to read thru them all and snicker. I mean, HUMP TWO LIPS?
Scorte- there's a ton of other "kum" names.
Maggies Nipples is epic though - there are humor tee shirt companies that have caught on too.
Ex: a bonus name I just found on cafepress- MIANUS, CT

  • What advantages are there to operating and parking a scooter or motorcycle in Seattle?
    Rex_racer_small

    operating -
Ramps and HOV lanes and the Express lanes of North 5 and I-90 are all ok for motorcycles to use with a single rider.
Used to be you didn't have to insure your motorcycle so that was a big get.
While 520 is no cheaper, the ferries, and highway 167 hotlane are free or cheap for motorcycles.
With better MPG comes fewer gas taxes paid - and gas taxes have gone up over 15% in the last ten years.
Best reason: motorcyclists here are hardy, observant, and very supportive of one another.

    Parking -
You don't have to purchase a RPZ permit to park in zoned neighborhood parking with a motorcycle -as of about two years ago.
Parking is significantly easier to find in neighborhoods that are generally a nightmare --such as pioneer square, capitol hill, belltown - since you can slip into end spots, and spots that are too small for cars.
Spread throughout the city are parking slots for motorcyles ONLY. If you happen to do business a lot where these are, then you win the parking lotto.
Many parking garages let motorcycles park free in the wasted triangle spaces (until these spots are filled).

  • Brother-in-Law getting off to our nude photos. Yuck.
    Rex_racer_small

Well, lesson learned right? that was foolhardy - leaving an unsecured online computer unsupervised with someone in your house. That sucks.

Creative solution: Invoice him. The guy sounds young and dumb anyway, so send him an invoice for 'download fees' --$19.99 per file-- from a company name or better yet from an 'intellectual property lawyer'. Then followup with a letter invoicing him for 'continued subscription fees' for still having/using these files --$29.99 per file per month for videos.

  • What are the most naturally innuendo-laden place names in Washington?
    Rex_racer_small

Hump-Two-Lips takes the cake - especially considering mcNutt road, big bottoms, flatbottom crk, humptulips valley dike road, and all the other fun names in that area.

these are all WA towns of a sex or bodypart vein--
    Horlick
    Climax
Mount Brook (okay, if she asks nicely)
    Hump-Free (Humphrey)
    Ryderwood
    Grand Mound (next to Es-sex)
    Blewitt
    Chumstick
    Longbranch
    Azwell
Asotin ( down the road from buns o' steel?)
    Proebstel
    Chiwaukum (chew what, now?)
    Newuakum (from NJ)
    Ki-tit-ass
Rimrock Retreat has always sounded dirty to me (Spiral Butte is 10 mi east of Rimrock)
    Surprise Valley
    perenneal favorite Cherry Valley
and Coal Canyon -the flip side?

    substance abuse--
    Pysht
    Stoner
High Rock - high point - highland
    Mushroom Corner
    Cokedale

None of which are anything compared to-
    Wanker's Corner, Oregon
    and Maggie's Nipples, Wyoming.

  • Can you translate "Jive Turkey" into current slang?
    Rex_racer_small

Not easily. It's irritating-cracker -plus- Showboat -plus- bullshitting punk-ass-fool -plus- wannabe. Of course, usage and meaning vary from user to user.

  • what is the best way to eat fruit on the bottom yogurt?

  • Where should I go for a solo weekend getaway?
    Rex_racer_small

I love driving so the further the better - I think Sacrelicious nails it - Long Beach or Ocean Shores would be top of my list that fits inside ALL your criteria. Great seafood, run or bike around to burn energy, super cheap this time of year. Oysterville and Nahcotta are THE goto places to get great fresh seafood too.

On the flip side, head up the mountains and your water could be rivers -or snow. Even Leavenworth has rooms for under $100 this time of year. Not great rooms, but rooms.

Of course, If you want less drive time, then what about Vashon?
Plenty of cabins for rent and close to home while quiet & non-city as hell. Rates will put you overbudget by 5 to 25 bucks, but you might save that in gas - Kingfisher Cabin or Kevin Bergen's 'The Log Cabin at the End of The World' are good places to google, another I can vouch for (and has the triplethreat of view, quiet, & hottub) is the Birds Nest -- http://www.vashonislandcottages.com/nest_blind_cottages.html
