  • Where is the best place in Seattle to have your knives sharpened? I've heard good things about Epicurean Edge but they are located on the Eastside.

    Even though I live on the west side of the water, I've been having my knives sharpened by Epicurean Edge. The edge seems sharper and lasts longer than when I tried anything else. I was pretty pleased with Bob Tate's sharpening as well, but it seemed like the knives lost their edges pretty quickly. As a professional chef, that was a problem.

  • Where can I get my knives professionally sharpened?

    I've been taking my knives to Epicurean Edge in Kirkland for years. I've tried several other options including Bob Tate, QFC, Sur la Table. Though I was initially pleased with Bob Tate's sharpening, my knives lost their edges quickly. Maybe the blades were over heated and softened when sharpened? QFC and Sur la Table may have been cheaper, but the edges were TERRIBLE! I don't care how little I paid, if the knife is not well sharpened! Each time I've had my knives sharpened by Epicurean Edge, the knives have come back sharper than when they were new and they have kept their edge for a long time.
    Also, the staff at Epicurean Edge also really seems to know a lot about the stuff that they sell.
