I"m not sure what your budget is, but there are a handful of great venues on the hill:

    Century Ballroom
    Melrose Market

    Yeah, what she said. ;)

  • Can anyone recommend a good Mexican food truck for a wedding reception?
    Flanishop_small

Most food trucks aren't used to handling large parties where everyone must be fed at the same time. Lines can quickly get backed up if the food is made to order and guests become frustrated. They're better used as late night snack options (party people love taquitos!) instead of dinner. If you do find one that will take this large of an event, make sure it has experience and check references.

An alternate option is to have your caterer set up a taco bar with fresh grilled meat and all the fixins.

A round of tequila shots for the table, please.

  • Help me find the designer of the white dress that Karen Fairchild of the country group Little Big Town is wearing in there video Little White Church.
    Flanishop_small

Just watched the video. Super rad dress.

I'm not familiar with the designer, but I think your best bet will be to have it custom made for you. You'll get a better fit that way too.

Locally, both Luly Yang and Cicada Bridal do custom work. I also know of an older woman one of my brides used to make dresses for all of her bridal party; Rita McIntosh 206.242.1027. She's reasonable, fast and charges by the hour.

I noticed that this question was all over the place on the interwebs, btw. If you're stuck on finding the designer, someone mentioned that the Little Big Town singer tweets at @LBTmusic and has a Facebook page. Two emails for the band listed are info@littlebigtown.com and support@littlebigtown.com. Would be worth trying that route if you haven't already.

    Good luck!

We bought chocolate covered coffee beans in bulk and made our own packaging with a sweet tag containing the guests' names. It was our way of infusing a little of Seattle into the celebration and help keep them up partying with us all night.

I agree with Barbie's above comment that the Sculpture Park is ideal, but it doesn't allow you to bring in your own catering. Their in-house catering via Taste is delicious though.

The Georgetown Ballroom is fantastic for a hip wedding although it's a cab ride from downtown and doesn't have the city or water views. Awesome space though and like the Sculpture Park, is already well decorated. They have a stage in the ballroom and are used to hosting bands.

  • best wedding reception venues in Seattle?
    Flanishop_small

Hi Shannon, I could list fifty great Seattle venues here that are all accustomed to hosting a DJ, most a live band, but whether it works for you will depend more on the kind of vibe you're going for with the wedding (rustic/natural, elegant, modern, etc) and what your logistical requirements are (guest capacity, ability to bring in own alcohol/food, etc.).

Both Seattle Metropolitan Bride & Groom and Seattle Bride have online vendor listings that provide detailed venue info. I'm happy to help you narrow it down a bit based on the feel you're going for.

Off the top of my head, here are some places where I've shot receptions that have hosted a band:

    The Ruins
    Crocodile Cafe (yup, the Croc!)
    The Georgetown Ballroom
    Pravda Studios
    Seattle Art Museum Sculpture Park
    Pan Pacific Hotel
    Corson Building (smaller weddings)
