  Need suggestions for indoor birthday party venues

  0 0 I don't know where you live but... theres Bullwinkles Family Fun Center in southcenter/renton. They have party rooms to rent, and games for kids of all ages (laser tag, go karts, mini-golf, arcade, etc etc). http://www.fun-center.com/public/tukwila/ the federal way rec center has a SUPER indoor pool. http://www.cityoffederalway.com/Page.aspx?page=1310 in Burien there's a gymboree place that has a party room for like $100 or so.   Do I really need a will? Would my kids suffer if I don't have one?

  0 0 Is there a specific reason why you're thinking about NOT making a will? have you had a bad experience or something? my husband and I made a will, we don't have a lot of stuff but we have 1 child so it seemed like the responsible thing to do. however we never did get it notarized....   What gear to you REALLY need for newborn? Short list please.

  0 0 it kinda depends on how you plan on raising the child, but in general you just need to cover the main bases - sleep, eat, clean, play. one thing we had but never used: bassinet. ended up being a laundry basket for 3 years. one thing I didn't have but should've: swing. actually I finally bought one but he was already too big. but he loved it!!!   What's the best way to tell an employer you'll need maternity leave?

  0 0 I agree with PP, you should sit down with your employer immediately, so as not to look like you're "springing" this on them. I would start by saying that "you're very excited to announce that you'll be having a baby - that you plan to continue working until the due date and that you definately would like to come back to work after ___ weeks." (not everyone takes/wants 12 weeks, maybe negotiate a shorter leave to help your employers). I mean, everyone loves babies so I doubt they're going to be mad at you. But of course they have to be worried about their company. Just hurry up and do it, then you can concentrate on your new baby.   Is there a tangible benefit to sitting down as a family for dinner?

  0 0 I think that sitting down for meals is just a way for some families to fill holes that may be lacking in their relationships. But its not a requirement for all families, especially if you have untraditional schedules or something. As long as you feel you have a good connection with your kids and find other ways to spend time together, then it doesn't have to be over dinner. I know in my house, we don't even have a dinning room table.
