  Is film school worth going to?

  3 0 I'd say it is. I'm half way through the 2 year film program at Seattle Central it has definitely been worth it so far, especially for the price. The main benefits of film school, where ever you attend, are: free access to equipment instant network (aka classmates) the instructors have usually worked or still work in the industry, and have connections that you can use Knowledge of the craft and its history hands on experience To me, trying to become a filmmaker without going to film school is like trying to be a doctor without attending medical school, or a lawyer without law school.   Good, smart Sci-Fi Fantasy summer read?

  0 0 Dune and it's sequels by Frank Herbert Anything by William Gibson, but especially Nueromancer and Iduru. If you're in to steampunk, Boneshaker by Seattle author Cherie Priest is pretty great; it's set in an alt-history 1871 where the Civil War is still going on and Seattle is infested with zombies.
