  1 0 Find a foundation for sensitive skin. If you are new to wearing cover up/foundation don't try to cover every splotch because the results will be noticeable. Instead, opt for a light coverage foundation and smooth a small amount only over the splotchiest areas of your face. Don't wear a full face, it can look caked on. Make sure you moisturize before the application. Apply foundation in natural day light if possible to prevent further unevenness. Finish with a light dusting of powder using a makeup brush. I use plain old cornstarch as powder which works like a charm and shouldn't affect sensitive skin. If you get oily throughout the day, blot the areas with a tissue. If you intend to purchase a foundation anyway, it might be good to visit a quality makeup counter before the interview. Pick out a foundation you want to purchase and have a professional apply it for you. Do the rest of the makeup yourself (you want to look like YOU at the interview after all). Makeup counter foundation can be expensive (think MAC, NARS, Lancome, ect) but it utilizes better quality ingredients that will be milder on your sensitive skin.   2 0 I don't think the current style is based on a particular year. Most of it is inspired primarily by the mid to late 1950s with influences from the 40s and occasionally the 30s. Though the "pin up" was popular through many decades in both photography and illustration, it's rare to see girls today drawing inspiration from the turn of the century and the twenties.   What are some good ways to get involved with the Seattle fashion design scene?

  2 0 The only real fashion design scene I have found in Seattle is the indie fashion design scene. Most of these designers operate completely independently and many sell through local boutiques. That being said, shop indie boutiques, make friends with the shop owners, get to know designers through there. Attend gallery parties and small parties thrown through said indie boutiques. Pretty Parlor has semi annual fashion shows for the local designers they stock and occasional trunk shows. I'm sure other boutiques throw similar events. Attend Seattle Fashion Week just to say you did. Most folks you meet in the local "scene" if there is such a thing are crafty men and women that work from home. Don't be afraid to approach them!   2 2 This really depends specifically on her style, needs, and budget. There are a ton of shops located near Westlake that cater to many different tastes (designer shops including very colorful Betsey Johnson, commercial stores like Anthropology, All Saints, or Urban Outfitters, and even some eclectic boutiques toward Pike Place. There are many local and indie design boutiques around Seattle and also a lot of great vintage stores mostly on Capitol Hill, the U Dist, and Ballard. Most shops carry dresses.
