About Rich Harriman

Sci Fi/Horror/Comic Book Seller at The Elliott Bay Book Company

I've been a full time bookseller for 13 years, 10 of which have been at The Elliott Bay Book Company. Though the bulk of my experience is with the buying and selling of used books I also read far more zombie books than is normally considered healthy and supplement those with heavy doses of science fiction, fantasy, and comic books.

I highly recommend Chew by John Layman, which follows the life of Tony Chu, a detective who gets psychic impressions from the things he eats. He ends up having to put some pretty horrible things into his mouth but the comic is fantastic.

I also really enjoyed Sweet Tooth, by Jeff Lemire. It's a post-apocalyptic novel about human/animal hybrids and the people who want them dead.

If you haven't read them already, you should check out Transmetropolitan by Warren Ellis and The Invisibles by Grant Morrison. They've both been out for a while but are extraordinary.

On my current to be read pile is Stumptown by Greg Rucka and Scalped by Jason Aaron, both of which look really good.

Hopefully that will set you up for a bit, but if you need some more recommends I'm sure I can come up with some more.
