  Bindweed vs. morning glory?

  0 0 I've grown Morning Glories a few times and they will eventually die when a frost hits.   0 0 I have a problem with big box retailers controlling the market, and buying up shelf space making it difficult for small breweries to compete. There is steady market growth for craft beer, and it's no wonder the big guys are buying out small companies and or imitating craft beer, people like it. I enjoy it myself, and I would rather spend a couple extra dollars to support a smaller business rather than a huge company making undrinkable piss. I also have a hard time believing liqour variety would increase at a supermarket, the state run liqour stores already provide adequate selection and I can't imagine safeway, or costco to have anything better. I don't necessarily think the 3 tier system is perfect, but in this economy I don't think it's responsible for the state to lay off even more employees. bradkin commented about 1 year ago

  0 0 What about the volume discounts Costco and large retailers will recieve to supply product from A-Busch, MillerCoors, putting pressure on the small breweries to give freebies, and or discounts that they can't keep up with?   0 0 It's nice hearing this fom someone who has gone through similar experience. I think I am one of his only social connections at this point. He calls me a few times a week, but we mostly talk about superficial things. he has left with me a couple times, to go to the store etc, but he seemed very nervous, and wpuld not leave the car. I know he isnt lazy, he does quite a bit of work around their house (dishes, laundry, general cleaning). My mom is more understanding about evrything, yet I think she agrees with my dad in order to make him happy. bradkin commented about 1 year ago

  0 0 I agree that I jumped to a conclusion I really don't have any clue about. I want to help him with whatever problem he is having, since my parents tend to turn thir cheek to it. There have been conversations between my Mom and I about him working, and I have stated taht he needs other help before he is able to do that. She has a hard time understanding that treatment didn't "cure" him of his problems, and she isn't the easiest person to rationalize with. I am going to attend some support groups like NAMI and DBSA this week, and try to further my knowledge of what I can do, our family dynamic is far from healthy, and I've walked on eggshells for a very long time.   0 0 i don't know what a nervous breakdown is either...forget I said that :) A few months ago he had posted in an chat that he was suicidal on my parents office computer, and my mom called 911. He denied that he was suicidal, and said the conversation was taken out of context, and had spoken with a therapist over the phone. From what my mom tells me, he denied that there was anything wrong, because he feared that she was going have him committed, which is a lengthy process from what I've heard, and wasn't her intention. I saw him last weekend, and I tried getting some information out of him, as non intrusively as I could. He was very despondent, and slept for most of my visit. I've asked him why he has'nt been leaving the house, and though his answer wasn't that clear, it seemed to elude to his fear of running into people he knows(they live in a small town in central WA) and he is somewhat embarassed of the reputation he has created himself there, though I am sure there is probably more to it then that. I called NAMI today and am going to attend a support meeting this week to get some more information on what I can do, so that I can handle this in a way that won't upset him, as he has become increasingly passive aggressive. I would like to have my parents attend it with me, but they live far away, and our relationship isnt that great either as I moved to Seattle when I was 17 after coming out of the closet, and things have been rocky since, yet maybe I'll be able to get some help from the people at NAMI for that as well. bradkin commented about 1 year ago

  Cat separation anxiety?

  0 0 Jingle Bell ringing-so cute! I'm not an animal psychologist, or anything but I think your cat is just a bit neurotic like most cats, and otherwise fine. Mine is a Tuxedo cat, she is 6 years old, and does the same with the nursing motions,although she seems to be affectionate while doing so. she likes to knead my feet which can be a little annoying, but its a routine now, at night, and I just bear with it to let her have her joy :P She has had 2 litters in the past(she's fixed now), and ever since the last litter, she loves for me to knead her tummy and she gets this look on her face of pure content, as if she's dreaming of her kittens. She has never enjoyed being held, and her new thing is coming and going out of the house multiple times a day, accompanied by desperate mowing, It seems a little senile..but its funny. bradkin answered in Pets about 1 year ago Answer and comment »
