Our property tax bill for 2011 was determined by an assessment made in July 2010, before we bought our house. That assessment was way off base compared to similar houses on our block and houses sold in our area. Appeals are only allowed up to 60 days following the assessment, well before the time we even saw our new home, hence, our problem for this year's tax bill.

Well, seeing that we had $200 of tickets already paid for, we went for it. The Canadian border guard let us right through, no questions asked about a passport. Showing him our tickets for the Mission Festival, just 10 miles away and looking like a wholesome pair probably helped.
Coming back was more difficult. We had to pull in and receive a mini lecture on the laws concerning proof of citizenship and promise to do the right thing next time. It was a slow day. Another pair had gotten busted for a small bag of grapes and a lemon. Over all, we were delayed by about 20 minutes.
The Festival was amazing by the way with some incredible groups from all over the world.
