  Epic, cultural, character-driven fiction?

  1 0 I loved Middlesex, too. And Kavalier and Clay. One of my favorite books ever is A Soldier of the Great War, by Mark Helprin.   Are there any romances out there that are actually good?

  0 1 I'm not a fan of romances or chick-flicks or chick-lit or any of that, but I found The Time Traveler's Wife to be very romantic without being ooky. It's not technically a romance, though.   Smash Putt: How long does it take to finish the whole thing?

  0 0 It took us more than 2 hours - some of the rooms were pretty full. I think an hour would be rushed - it's fun as a social thing, there's a lot of chatting up.   1 0 We've done the classic vomiting pumpkin for several years - I add rice and mini M&Ms and a few gummi worms to the vomitus to make it more realistic.   Green Exterminator recommendations?

  0 0 Pyrethrins work for wasps, and they're not as nasty as most regular commercial solutions, unless you happen to be allergic to them. I'm not sure who uses them, though. But I know who would know, and he might take care of your wasp problem himself. Sean Met runs A Wildlife Pro, and he's really nice and thorough and affordable. He got rats out of my ceiling space a while back, and they're still gone. He's very humane, too.   Quick, reliable refrigerator repair company?

  how can I clean my yard waste container?

  0 0 I do a thorough hosing out of mine, and then put in some water and dish soap to actually clean it. If you use a natural dish soap like Lifetree or Seventh Generation, or some Dr. Bronner's (Most Entertaining Label Ever!), it won't contaminate the compost.
