  0 0 the guesthouse inn is across the street from the lakeway inn. maybe a 1/2 star below the lakeway, but lots cheaper and still a great location. you also don't have to deal with the old lushes running around the martini bar all night. my folks stayed at about every place in b'ham when my sis and i were at wwu, and said the guesthouse was the best option if you will be spending most of your time being out and about -- great location, relatively cheap, and safe/clean/etc. erik commented about 1 year ago

  What is a good gift for a homeless person?

  2 0 if there's someone standing outside of the grocery store who isn't too pushy, i'll offer to buy them a coffee (especially if it's cold out). i used to have a friend who would keep packs of mcdonald's gift cards (i guess they come in 1$ "bills") and would hand a couple or three out to folks to make sure they would buy food (sorry this will now turn into an argument about obesity in america). but for the most part, i'd say elenchos is right on. erik answered in Whatever over 2 years ago Answer, comment & read 8 more answers »

  Where can I get cool patches for my messenger bag?

  0 0 i've found it's worth at least swinging by a place like value village or goodwill (or even a more expensive, more picky second hand type store) to check out tshirts they may have there. if you can find an old shirt with a sweet logo, you'll be able to walk out with it for under 5$ for sure (10$ if it's a fancy store). it'll cover up a lot of space for a lot cheaper than 10 3$ patches would. unless having a crazy bag with tons of patches is higher up on your design hierarchy than covering up the logo (which is fine). erik answered in Style & Beauty over 2 years ago Answer, comment & read 5 more answers »

  0 0 for some reason i forgot fremont coffee on 36th. it's a super old house that has no furniture other than a mish-mash of old chairs and tables, so you can just kind of hide, and since it's a house and not a big room, the noise is low and muted. they also have a great wrap-around porch for nicer days. good folks. erik commented over 2 years ago
