  How much sick leave do you let accumulate before using it for "other" reasons?

  1 0 a couple weeks worth of accrued sick time is a pretty decent amount to have as a safety net. and i wouldn't worry too much about taking off one day as "sick"/mental health day. but, if you want to take more than that, why not just schedule it in advance with your employer and not worry about whether or not it's going to come back to bite you in the ass? hoffa answered in Jobs & Education about 1 year ago Answer, comment & read 10 more answers »

  3 0 In my opinion, that's probably not such a hot idea. This happened at my office a couple weeks ago: Someone left a briefcase (empty) wedged betweeen the wall and the soda machine. An employee found it and alerted his boss. twenty minutes later the bomb-squad showed up, the office was evacuated and we all lost half a day of work.   0 0 There's no lot attendant in the lot and, therefore, no one to show my permit. Also, my employer issues the permits monthly. So, in order to "prove" that I'd paid to park in June of '08, I'd need to produce that month's permit (and that's buried under a pile of cigarette butts wherever Brown Bear dumps its trash). it's been a little more than two years since my first ticket and i've only gotten three. i'm not terribly worried at this point since no one from Diamond has bothered to contact me (however, Damien's comment above makes it difficult to relax). at this point i'm weighing the options: which is worse? dealing with a bunch of phone calls and paperwork to avoid paying tickets i didn't totally deserve or getting sent to a collections agency for some stupid BS? hoffa commented over 2 years ago

  0 0 clearly i'm thinking about this way more than i need to be. i found the following from a review of The Funhouse on yelp.com: "...The bartenders are cool, and those ladies don't take any crap from you. They've got a pool table, and Area 51 (you know you love that shoot em' up game) and it's not as scary as it looks... Unless you're afraid of clowns." granted, it was posted in 2007 - but until i can get down there for a beer, this will have to serve as my only form of "proof." hoffa commented over 2 years ago
