I think this answer makes sense - if you're in your 30's yourself, you might want to look for men in their 40's, who are more experienced with life in general and a little more practical and world-wise.

I feel dirty giving you the mushroom just because you really tuned in to my son's natural genius... But I will anyway. We're getting a marble run for his 4 year old brother, because that's all he wants to do at preschool, so I expect it's one more thing they can fight over. And I was gifted with 2 children who only ever put food in their mouths, so I'm not too worried.

Try the toddler gyms at Jefferson Community Center on Beacon Hill (tuesdays and Thursdays), and the one at Magnuson C.C. on Fridays. They have bigger toys, which are just right for truly toddler toddlers, and bouncy houses (yay bouncy house!)

I don't specifically know of any covered playgrounds in the city though. Another option (don't know it till you try it) is the indoor play area at Bellevue Square. It sounds horrible, but we use it out of desperation about once a month during the winter.

And I'm sure you already have, but invest in good rain pants/coat/boots. How old is the kid?

I JUST figured out how to text, like, 2 weeks ago, so realistically I think that's a little beyond me. Although I have thought about it. Maybe if I didn't have to work full-time...

Seems like it's the only socializing I DO have time for. Besides the calender, I don't really like Parentmap - I guess I'm not really looking for an online magazine, and I can't really relate to the blogs they have.
