I SO agree with you, infernactual. It's a tricky line to toe for some people but I definitely think that a child can be "spoiled" and still be polite and grow up to be quite well-adjusted. Spoiled, to me, doesn't mean that the kid is allowed to act like a brat all the time and gets everything he or she wants. I think back to the nice little things my parents and other adults did for me and it makes me smile.

Additionally, I just can't help but imagine the crust issue spiraling into a control battle between you and your daughter. Not that I'm saying it will, but as another commenter mentioned, in the grand scheme of things it's really small potatoes.

And I just saw it at Metropolitan Market on the top of Queen Anne, in the bakery section.

I agree with Geni, though I was born here as well so perhaps we're similarly biased.

I did live for a year in Quebec, and though there were many sunny days that winter (more than normal, I heard), it was really the cold that got me. It doesn't really get cold here. The average high during winter is probably between 45 and 50 degrees, but can often feel warmer if there's drizzle.

Really, I think that Seattle is unfairly pegged as being horrible for 9 months out of the year. Sure, spring is really slow to start, but it's rare to go more than a week or so without seeing some sun.

You'll be fine :). And, as others have said, the summers and early fall is so beautiful!
