People who don't want Sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulfate in their shampoo are concerned that it strips too much oil from their hair. This is more of a problem for people with curly hair, who need to retain some natural oils in order to avoid frizziness, but it can happen to anyone. My stylist lectures me on the evils of SLS shampoos every time I get my hair cut.

Another reason some people may wish to avoid products containing SLS is that it can overdry and irritate the skin. This can occur when using any kind of shampoo, soap, body wash, etc. that contains SLS. SLS isn't a problem for most people, but those with sensitive skin can have adverse reactions.

I haven't been there in a while, but I when I lived in North Seattle, Judy Fu's Snappy Dragon was my go-to place for Chinese food. Their homemade noodles are really good. My other favorite dishes are the Mandarin Fried Rice and the Dry Sauteed String Beans. Also, they deliver (between 45th & 125th and Aurora & Sand Point Way), which is awesome.

Serious Pie is a good suggestion. Other options nearby include:

Ralph's Grocery - they have a deli with great sandwiches, salads, pizza and soups and a small seating area where you can eat. The prices are pretty good and so is the food. Also, they're open until 2:00 am.

Palace Kitchen - this is another Tom Douglas restaurant. Although their dinner prices are a bit spendy, they have a great happy hour with both food and drink specials.

Icon Grill - I haven't been to the Icon in a while, but I know they used to have an awesome happy hour. If memory serves they had a number of food items that were in the $6-$8 range.

This is an extremely late response to your question, but I thought I'd chime in just in case you're still looking. If you have renter's or homeowner's insurance you can schedule a smart phone on your policy for a small additional charge. If you are a renter and you don't have renter's insurance, you really should consider purchasing - it's usually in the range of $10-20/month and would reimburse you for your belongings in case of accidents (like fire or water damage) or break-in.

I would prefer Ballard or Fremont. Greenwood is a little far from home and work for me. 6ish on a weeknight at the People's Pub in Ballard would be my first choice.

I'm chiming in a month late to echo others' concerns about the emphasis on answers rather than questions. I really think it would make more sense to feature questions in the wider left hand column and answers in the narrower right hand column. If I see a question that interests me I'll click on it to read the answers. I don't want to see "disembodied" answers before I even get to read the question.

Also, I'm not a big fan of the crowdsourced header photo idea. I feel like Questionland has lost its branding, since the main imagery associated with the site is always changing. Also, some of the photos being used just aren't strong images. Maybe I'll feel differently in a month or two...
