My first episode of bites occurred about 3-4 months ago. It took washing and vacuuming over and over again to stop the bits. Just recently started waking up with more bites. They have mostly been around my legs and ankles. Maybe a few around the hips. Not always in a row.

These are the worst bug bites ever! They are SO itchy. Drive me crazy. They are large, have an irregularly shaped edge (not round), with little bump along their mostly flattened top (like when I got poison oak). They do not have a red dot in the middle like flea bits unless I itch them a hell of a lot...

And yes I do have a cat who likes to bring in rats. Dead or alive. And yes he occasionally has fleas but I have had animals my whole life and have never had bites like this. Maybe they are rat mites?

They only evidence of any bug (besides fleas) was once in the evening, I ripped back the covers to find a very very small, reddish bug. Could have been a mite or bed bug...didn't save it.

And thanks for the tip brentcolvin, but my crotch is just fine.

The worst situation would be bed bugs. Seems like they are especially difficulty to get rid of. That makes me freak out a little bit. = )

    Thanks for all the tips.
