    Wouldn't a plastic barrier prevent drainage. Maybe there are barriers that allow drainage and also suppress weed growth. In any case, I'm not going to pull up my path so I guess I'll just have to deal with the weeds as they come up. Thanks for the answer.

    Although I heard from one of the veteran baristas that they don't have to vacate until June of next year and that they are planning to move back into the space after its built. So not all bad if that come true.

    The only time that you can be sure the weather will be nice is after July 4th and before September 1st. However, my favorite Seattle weather saying is "If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes." I also like to say that if the weather is nice there are nice people visiting. Hope you have a great visit here.
