  3 0 I've heard excellent things about Partners in Health. Among them, this accolade from someone who was inspired to enter the health-care profession because of PIH (this is about the org in general, not specifically its earthquake relief): Partners in Health has been leading the way in connecting the dots between health access and poverty: fighting for the best and most expensive drugs to be available and affordable to those with multi-drug resistant TB and breaking down barriers to antiretroviral medications for those with HIV. They are working in areas that have been stepped over and on from Red Cross, United Way, etc., employing and training locals to work in the clinics, not bringing in foreigners or those who don't speak the language/know the culture and history. They operate from an anti-imperialistic, antiracist analysis, creating better models for better health care across the world. Their first clinic was in Haiti, and they are now in Peru, Lesotho, Rwanda, Burundi, the US, and elsewhere.   Who Here's Smoked (Fully Legal) Salvia?
