I live in Olive Tower (Boren & Olive), on the 9th floor, and I've tried several different antennae and antennaeweb.org and consulting Questionland and pointing my latest (rather pricey) antennae in all directions. Nothing has really taken me past Fox 13, KCTS, and sometimes KIRO with any reliability. I'm no expert, but it's possible we're just not getting the strongest signals down here.

It's a rather confounding problem. We're looking into it. Can you kindly point us to the offending post(s)?

www.hrg.org. They're subsidized housing, so you can't use them if you make even a fair amount of money, and there's a decent amount of paperwork, but they have great places if you qualify.

"Land of 1000 Dances" --Wilson Pickett

I just got Qwest (DSL), despite all of Slog telling me not to (see here: http://slog.thestranger.com/slog/archives/2010/02/24/confidential-to-qwest-fix-your-web-site ) I've found it to be okay-ish. I get frame loss (probably not the right term) sometimes with Hulu and some other streaming sites, and some friction with Netfilx videos. It cuts out sometimes, which can be annoying, but when it's up, the speed seems acceptable most of the time. It costs $35 a month + tax, and you have to buy or lease a modem if you don't already have one that's compatible. Setup was a breeze. Anyway, that's my non-expert user experience. The comments on the Slog link are worth your time if you're trying to make a decision.

It's steep, but well worth it. You get a beautiful lake, views of Mt. Index from half way up, and you can look out over the the other surrounding Cascades right at the top of the trail. Best of all, if you're feeling brave, there's a giant rock that slopes into the lake, and you can run down it and jump in. This is all best done in the summer, obvs.

Brian, it's totally kid-friendly. I say go see it. They'll be transfixed, and not understand much about the film, but there's not all that much to understand. It's just fun.
