    I was hoping they would replace that stage. This REALLY sucks! I was one of the old timers hanging out there.

    The big green egg has a ceramic heat diffuser that the grill sits on for indirect cooking. It acts as a shelf for a drip pan and/or a pan for water. They even make an expensive pan for that purpose. Everything for the egg is sold separately. The reviewer may not have had all the accessories necessary for indirect cooking.

    I second the notion that the water is for temp control and not about generating moisture.

    In questionland there is a strong negative response to people who make opinionated statements and put a question mark at the end. We all know who dan is and what he is about. The OP seems to be presenting his opinion and has responded to many eloquent and some angry answers by restating that opinion. All we know about him is that he seems to have a problem with overt gay sexuality and he doesn't seem satisfied by the answers given.

    If this had been asked in a different way and the follow-up comments from the OP avoided words like "lifestyle" I am certain that it would have been treated differently. In any case it started a long conversation and that is a good thing.

    "lifestyle" = troll

    It is a protest march. If you are not offended, we aren't doing it right.

    It is also properly pronounced "shaps"

    "Chaps" are men in England

    Thank you for starting your comment with the disclosure that you have a limited understanding of what you are talking about.

    There are all kinds of financial advisers who do all kinds of things. No particular type of compensation is going to prevent the sorts schemes you describe.

    One time planning provides NO incentive or accountability to the planner and commission based investing tends to be more trade focused. It is easy to imagine all the ways that someone is going to rip you off but at least with fee based, the planner is primarily interested in your long term success. Fee based investing is the direction most financial firms are moving.

    As for Cbone, if your investments are going to stay with your employer and are not substantial, a simple financial plan is likely the best option. I don't have a recommendation for any individuals but suggest you try the GSBA as the financial planners who are members are all trustworthy and at least marginally accountable to the organization. thegsba.org

    I miss the old days when we had these kind of open and personal questions.

    This is not about religion or Christianity. It is about the actions of a church and the culpability of its followers. I am episcopalian by birth, baptism and confirmation. I have never been required to tithe and they will not kick me out for being a gay atheist. My boyhood church is known for performing marriages for gay couples from its own congregation as well as other less accepting congregations like the LDS and Nazarene.

    The Mormon church committed substantial, tithed, church resources to overturning prop 8. That's not happening at my church.
