About QFC, I have reason to suspect that maybe they sold more of it before and recently discontinued some. I have a little 8 oz. box of 100% wild rice from the Fall River Valley in California ("Located in a rural mountain valley, nestled between the Cascades and the Sierra Nevada mountain ranges") that I bought in the markdown section of the West Seattle QFC for $1.79 (the label says "was: $3.49"). It isn't expired or anything - the expiration date is in 2014 - so I guess they just decided not to sell it anymore.

I don't remember the price, but I know Trader Joes sells some kind of wild rice mix with daikon seeds in it that's pretty good.

Sorry for the late reply! I just went by Daiso today to check out how it's sold there. I went to the store across the street from Uwajimaya, but there's also one in the Westlake Mall that's a little bigger.

At the ID store, it's in the small Office Supplies section; not with the rolls of tape by the windows. So walk in past the cashier and it's in one of the aisles to the left.

It's labeled "Kraft Tape" in small letters under the same name in big katakana. It looks basically like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/thebestofjapan/4990254418/

The label says you can actually tear it by hand. I tried it and it does tear pretty easily, but not straight. Again I should mention that it has the slickest top surface of any packaging tape around and basically nothing will stick to the top of it.

It's really remarkably cheap at $1.50 for a 50m roll.

"g.Yag" might mean male, but "yak" is a gender-neutral term.

Thank you Irena, thank you Fnarf!

You'll have to give us a report on how the Bonal tastes.

Paris Grocery has already updated their page, so future surfers should use this link -

And now I think I might not be able to rest until I track down a bottle of this "stone pine liqueur" I came across on their distributor's site -
