  Lilacs in bloom?

  Where are the best french fries in Seattle?

  1 2 You could make your own, too. Use Russet potatoes, get some garlic salt, onion salt, paprika, and regular salt, a teaspoon each. And a cup of flour. Cut up the potatoes into fries, let them sit in cold water so they don't brown while you prepare everything else. Heat a cup of vegetable oil in a big skillet on medium-high. While the oil heats up, sift the seasonings and the flour together in a big bowl and gradually add water until you can drizzle the batter from a spoon. Then one at a time, dip the fries into the batter and then place them apart from each other in the skillet. Fry until golden brown and let them sit on a paper towel before you chow down. Mmm.   2 0 My childhood/all-time favorite: peanut butter and banana sandwiches. You can add apricot jam or honey too. It's a pretty messy situation but guaranteed to be yummy. There's also the wonderful world of pitas. Spread on some tahini and soy sauce, add your desired greens and don't skimp on the grated carrot and sliced cucumber. This can also be good if you use tuna and bean sprouts instead of tahini and soy sauce. Another yummy sandwich I sometimes make uses sprouts, avocado, tomato, lettuce, and provolone on wheat bread with some Dijon.
