    Yeah, "kosher style" really just means "similar foods." It's not guaranteed to be kosher or even use kosher ingredients.

    In order for an establishment to be kosher, it has to have someone on site who knows all the kosher laws, who makes sure they are followed. That's what "supervised" means in this case. I know it seems silly Ted, but when you are keeping kosher, you have to look out for things like "kosher style" so you don't end up eating something treif (non-kosher). It's easy for someone who is just making matzah ball soup to add dairy to the broth without thinking, or cheese to a meat sandwich.

    Take heart, if he was a real stickler, like someone who was Ultra-Orthodox, he would never eat outside of his own home, our the homes of people in his own community, who go to synagogue with him!
