  0 0 Your assessment is incorrect. If I my question had been along the lines of, "why did the music associated with art used to be so great?" that would be an example of nostalgia. My actual question is "why is the music associated with art so lame". I gave a few examples of music that has been involved with art simply to point out that it isn't a priori that that bland music be played at art openings. The music in the past was primarily milquetoast chamber music and the examples I cited were certainly exceptions. The broader question could include this historical aspect, but frankly I'm not that interested in that beyond how it informs the present. Why is it that now, today, in Seattle, that there is so little interest in fostering collaboration between creative music and creative art? Big Unshaven Man commented over 2 years ago
