I've tried this, you definitely need the right feed reader. Some online readers (Google Reader for one) seem to set the rate of updates for a feed based on how many people are subscribed. With only a handful of people (being generous) subscribed to a particular comment feed, I found that I wasn't really getting timely updates.

If you have a feed reader that will update often, or one that you can control the rate of update, this is definitely a good solution.

Also it seems to make more sense to only show this popup if you've logged in with facebook connect.

It's definitely bugged. Whenever you click to close, it comes back.

I think you might be able to buy Xbox games through your Xbox's internet connection, but I'm not totally positive. I know that on my Wii, I can buy old NES/SNES/N64/GC games and it downloads them to its emulator.
