I found the best way to try and catch up was to pick a theme and listen to all the shows that listed that in the contents. So I did Stranger writers, podcast crossovers and then just started inputing keywords that interested me.

I've only been listening to the show for a few weeks and already I feel really close to it. I feel like it would be entertaining to listen to these people discuss anything. And right now they're featuring Best Of shows so I'm catching up with those too.

Thanks for the advice, I'm really glad I persisted with the show. And sorry for not replying promptly, that was rude of me.

Can you suggest the best episodes of Too Beautiful To Live?

  • What questions would be asked in a style/fashion category?
    Plane_small

I agree with e.strange and fnarf, not every style question needs to be about purchasing. I don't have any style guidance to offer anyone, but I'm sure there are plenty of people here who do and it's a fun thing to read about. For example, Jesse Thorn's Put This On gets non purchase related questions all the time: http://putthison.com/tagged/Q_and_Answer .

Hmm, for some reason that link won't work. But you can google 'Phonogram comic' or look it up on Amazon.

You might enjoy the comic Phonogram (http://www.phonogramcomic.com/). Its set in a world where music is literally magic. People manipulate, attack and seduce others with songs. Its also really very funny. The first series is collected as Rue Britannia and is excellent, but my favourite is The Singles Club which only recently finished and is about the multitude of experiences possible in the same club on a friday night. Sadly the series suffered from much financial trouble and its unlikely that any more will ever be written. Still, there are a couple of free pdfs of the first comic in each series on the site so you should be able to get an idea of whether its for you.

Is there a reason why there isn't a style/fashion section here?

God damn that sounds fun. Sounds like a good way to avoid awkward lunges.

Thanks for your answers everyone. I don't think I'm a 'gag her with your tounge' kind of guy, but I absolutely am a 'overthink it and say something unecessary' person. It seems clear from your answers that saying something upfront is a bad idea, but that there are plenty of cute ways to communicate that stuff later on. I'm glad I asked. Originally I was fishing for a Savage answer, but the response has been great. I think I'll stick around in Questionland.

This makes a lot of sense. Reading over the question again makes me think about how single minded it sounds. I think if the question had come up in Savage Love I would have worried that the guy was building up a dangerous ideal. I recently learned a good lesson about assuming I knew what kind of people I could be friends with and though this isn't exactly the same situation I think that lesson applies. Thanks to you and Geni for answering in such a friendly and sensible manner.
