  2 0 First, we really need to work on educating people on the absolute dysfunction caused by Tim Eyman's 2/3rds majority nonsense. People, POOR people, voted for that. Why!? Did the legislature grow a spine and approve the yacht/aircraft luxury taxes? I know there was some gesturing in that direction. Not sure if it was serious.   0 0 Yeah, I have to say that while Visa and Mastercard provide a service--it's a service that could rightly be performed in the public domain at this point. I'd like to know what the Federal Reserve System charged as a rent--adjusted for inflation--for clearing a check before the electronic payment system infrastructure was in place. The associated costs for posting a charge are undoubtedly less and, IMO, still error prone albeit with less frequency. The cc companies make money off of volume. After the economic collapse and reconstitution, they kept raising these rates which introduced a flurry of these kinds of policies at larger restaurants as well. Also, is it so bad to have cash which can't be so easily tracked? I mean this is the age of BofA data-mining for dirt on Wikileaks and their supporters. dirac commented about 1 year ago

  Good intro book to quantum mechanics?

  0 0 Russ and Andrew are right. But I was going to recommend the QED (quantum electrodynamics) lectures. There's a book based on the lecture/notes. They were taped in Australia and perhaps they've been put online by now. About 10 years ago, I bought some copies for $120 (hello youtube)! Feynman is great and enjoys audiences.   I have Pandora on my iPod Touch. After a few minutes of playing music, the app just shuts down. WTF?

  0 0 Did you happen to update Pandora recently? I usually wait on updates so I have an older version. It's running fine on my iPhone.
