  Good place for dinner with mom and 8 year old?

  0 0 There are a few things that came straight to mind: 1. Tutta Bella on Westlake and Denny. This is one of their nicer locations: great city views, cool space and yummy eats. Lots of veggie options. 2. Cafe Lago in Montlake off of 24th. Great pasta, nice atmosphere. 3.   What would make a tasty infused bourbon?

  4 0 Why infuse at all? It's tricky and you might ruin a perfectly delicious bourbon with something crazy like cured pig meat. I'm a big old fashioned fan myself and I think it would be more fun to buy a range of specialty bitters to go with an excellent bourbon. The other night I had cardamom bitters in a delicious old fashioned that was like autumn melting in my mouth. For the bourbon, I'd recommend Woodford Reserve, Bulleit or Buffalo Trace.   Where can I find New York style pizza in Seattle?

  4 0 You can't beat Big Marios. It is easily the closest to what a NYC-phile would be looking for. As a second choice, there is also Bruno's downtown on 3rd. As an aside, it's true that Seattle doesn't really do New York style pizza well. But that is different than saying Seattle has inferior pizza. What we're really good at is the wood fired/Neapolitan style: Tutta Bella, Via Tribunali, Serious Pie among others.   which are the best playgrounds in the seattle area?

  2 0 We are blessed with so many good parks in and around the area. I recommend (in no particular order): 1. Seward Park. They put in a new park last year. It is great for a range of kids and includes a zip line. There is also a swim area, paved bike path and a nature center complete with an African tortoise. 2. Jefferson Park on Beacon. This is also a brand new park. Great equipment, adjacent basketball and tennis ball courts, paved bike path and a great field for kites. 3. Saint Edward State Park on the Eastside. It's a bit of a distance, but boy is it worth it.   Where can we rent a cabin or two on a lake in WA?

  1 0 You should also look into Lake Kachess. It is just beyond Snoqualmie Pass toward Cle Ellum. It's a big, beautiful lake near lots of fun recreation. Here are my two cents divided geographically by neighborhood from the south end to downtown. *Columbia City: Lottie's, Columbia City Ale House *Capitol Hill: Canterbury, Tommy Gun *SoDo: Hooverville, Elysian Fields *Downtown: Zig Zag *Belltown: Bathtub Gin, Clever Bottle, Spitfire, Rob Roy Or put another way.   Are there any good restaurants north of 85 Street in Seattle and south of Mt. Vernon?

  1 0 It's a great question -- and honestly it is a bit of a wasteland. However, there are some gems. Here are some recommendations (going north): 1. El Camion Taco Truck in North Seattle. http://www.elcamionseattle.com 2. Alexa's Cafe in Bothell. Great home cooking for breakfast or lunch. http://www.alexascafe.com 3. Epulo Bistro in Edmonds. Wood fired pizza, Mediterranean. http://www.epulobistro.com/ 4. Ka Won Korean BBQ in Lynnwood. Great Korean food. Give them all a try.
