You can't help, really, any more than you can help a heart to unbreak--and trying too hard gets just annoying (i've been on both sides of this coin), no matter what your sexual orientation. Just listen and be sympathetic. ride it out. Those are the duties of a friend. Good luck.

This is without a doubt the Wildrose's massive annual beer garden--this year dubbed "Bush Gardens". (Top drawer!) It goes all weekend and features incredible rotating DJ and performing talent every day, including the Ononos, Vockah Redu and Big Fredia (sissybouncing in from old New Orleans!), DJ Amature youth...sheesh! 1021 East Pike, can't miss it.

I like to keep it mobile. I meander a good portion of the parade route on foot, stopping here and there to squeal at friends. And with plenty of places to pop in for a bloody mary along the parade route, why sit still? I catch most of everything worth catching and remain free and flowing...plus the crowd watching is always more fun to see and interact with than the crowds marching.

Pride is about pride. Inclusiveness is the point of the beast, and spectacle is one of the greatest gifts/weapons of our breed. Oh! How I do find folks who endlessly debate this issue quite tiresome. So--my flaming flamboyance doesn't represent everyone gay in the universe? Hooray! Beige boringness does not reflect me or my life. But I'm not about to whine about it, or take a judgemental exclusivist stance against the people in my community, or argue that all the accountants marching in baseball caps don’t reflect me, and set forth an unrepresentative image of gayness, and are therefore politically damaging/irrelevant, somehow embarrassing, or acting against my alleged “cause”. Because YAWN.

Only a total dullard would excercise such an opinion these days. If anyone does so in your presence, feel quite free to slap them. For me.

i give it two years, but that's totally off the cuff. also, the lottery numbers are 16, 13, 24, 27, and 10.

all this secrecy! it just reinforces the worng, wrong, WRONG notion that gayness is something to be ashamed of. it's an honest question. ask it!
