  what's the best way to prepare my child for the bullying you are hearing about these days?

  1 0 Teach her to love herself by leading by example. Tell her to defend herself, verbally and physically if nessesary. Show her videos from The It Gets Better Project. Insist that she learn to stand up for others when she sees bullying happening. I work with at risk young adults, and I see bullying all the time. I always say something like, "how can you let that kid talk to your friend like that. You should be embarrassed" Kids need to learn accountability and empathy. Only then will bullying cease.
